After 3 weeks of work, 2 episodes of near heart-failure and a lot of cursing, I can finally unveil my urban-decay website, Local Ruins: Abandoned, Decaying and Reclaimed Buildings in Toronto.
It is still a work-in-progress - it always will be. I know there are mistakes, such as on the page about Residential buildings, where I deleted two or three photos but forgot to delete the captions. I have taken exactly one photography course, 10 years ago. I have never studied web-design in any serious way. This is not a flashy site, there are no bells and whistles. It is very humble and modest. I need to work on the prose. But I just wanted to get it out there, and I have had such a hard time with the Sympatico server - first it wouldn't accept my file names, then the folders, then there wasn't enough space...But it's up there, it's out there now, in its imperfect form. If you like old buildings, if you're interested in Toronto, if you are a heritage freak like me, please feel free to visit.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
